Wife leaves labourer husband
A recent case has emerged in Bihar where a labourer, Mithilesh Kumar, is seeking help from the SSP after his wife left him following her government job appointment. Mithilesh, who worked tirelessly to support and educate his wife, Preeti Kumari, urged the SSP to facilitate communication with her.

According to reports, Mithilesh worked day and night to help Preeti prepare for her competitive exams. Preeti recently secured a job with the Bihar Military Police (BMP) and was posted in Bodh Gaya. After her posting, she began to distance herself from Mithilesh, eventually blocking his phone number.

The couple, married since 2017 and parents to a six-year-old son, initially had a good relationship. However, following Preeti’s job appointment in 2021, their relationship soured. Mithilesh filed a written application with the Gaya SSP, expressing his desire to reunite with his wife, who is now unwilling to meet him.

On the other hand, Preeti, stationed at BMP in Bodh Gaya, claimed she wanted to distance herself due to harassment from her husband. She accused Mithilesh of taking her ATM card and withdrawing money, as well as subjecting her to torture for dowry. She has reportedly informed her department about her decision to stay away from her husband, asking him to stop bothering her.

This situation echoes the earlier case of Jyoti Maurya, a former SDM in Bareilly, whose story gained media attention after she distanced herself from her husband after becoming a UPSC officer, despite his support during her preparations.
