A fun outing with friends turned into a nightmare for the family of Mumbai-based chartered accountant and content creator, Aanvi Kamdar, when she fell into a gorge from the waterfalls and died while making reels. The tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.

The 27-year-old influencer, on a monsoon trip with seven friends, fell into a 300-foot-deep gorge near the famous Kumbhe waterfall at Mangao while filming a video on Tuesday, according to a police official.

While capturing the scenic beauty on video, Kamdar slipped and fell into the gorge. The police and locals quickly reached the accident site, rescued her, and rushed Kamdar to the nearby Mangaon taluka government hospital. Unfortunately, she died during treatment.

“She fell on the hard, slippery rocks, around 300ft into the valley, and was initially difficult to spot. She was eventually brought up using a stretcher attached to rappelling ropes. Six rescuers climbed down the hill, while another 50 assisted from above,” one of the rescuers told ET.

Aanvi Kamdar, a chartered accountant by profession, had made a name for herself as a popular social media content creator, focusing on travel videos. She previously worked at the IT/Technology consulting company Deloitte. Her Instagram account, with over 270K followers, primarily featured monsoon tourism in the Maharashtra region. Describing herself as a “travel detective,” she shared her passion for travel through posts on luxury finds, cafes, itineraries, tips, and travel budgets for various destinations both in India and abroad.
