In a heart-wrenching series of accidents, at least 10 people lost their lives and 19 others were injured when a car carrying Maha Kumbh devotees from Chhattisgarh collided with a bus on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway late Friday night.

The fatal crash occurred around 2 AM near the Meja police station in Prayagraj, when a Bolero, reportedly carrying devotees from Korba, Chhattisgarh, slammed into a bus transporting pilgrims from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Authorities suspect the Bolero driver fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the devastating collision.

Following the incident, DCP Yamunanagar Vivek Chandra Yadav confirmed that the deceased were shifted to Swaroop Rani Nehru Medical Hospital for post-mortem, while emergency teams rushed to provide medical aid to the injured. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath swiftly responded, directing officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure proper treatment for the victims.

Another Deadly Crash in Madhya Pradesh

Tragedy struck again on Tuesday morning when a mini-bus carrying pilgrims back from the Maha Kumbh Mela met with a horrific accident near Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district. The bus, en route to Andhra Pradesh, was hit by a truck driving on the wrong side of the highway, leading to the instant death of seven passengers and leaving several others trapped in the wreckage.

District Collector Deepak Kumar Saxena revealed that the accident took place 65 km from Jabalpur’s district headquarters, with eyewitnesses confirming that the truck driver’s reckless mistake resulted in the catastrophic impact.

Third Tragic Collision in Bihar

In yet another shocking accident the same day, a truck and an auto-rickshaw collided near the Muthani area in Bihar’s Kaimur district, claiming three more lives. The victims were also returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela when the tragic crash occurred during the early hours of Tuesday under the Mohania police station limits.
