Top 5 most peculiar and horrifying places

Centralia, Pennsylvania

In 1962, a mysterious fire broke out in a coal mine beneath Centralia. This fire led to some unusual and dangerous events: in 1979, a gas station owner discovered that gasoline in his underground tanks was extremely hot, and in 1981, a boy almost fell into a 150-foot-deep sinkhole. These incidents caused many residents to leave. Today, the town is filled with crumbling buildings and broken sidewalks. You might even see smoke rising from the underground fires, which scientists say will keep burning for another 250 years.

The Door to Hell, Turkmenistan

Located in the Karakum Desert, the “Door to Hell” is a massive, 230-foot-wide crater that has been burning for over 50 years. This fiery pit was created in 1971 when Soviet scientists accidentally drilled into a methane reserve while searching for oil. To prevent the dangerous gas from spreading, they set it on fire, and it has been burning since then.

Snake Island, Brazil Snake Island, as the name suggests, this place is filled with venomous snakes. There are reportedly one to five snakes per square meter, and their venom is five times more potent than that of their mainland species. In order to avoid risk to humans, the Brazilian government has banned public access to the island.

Visiting these places can absolutely be a dare for anyone but we say not to accept those kinds of dares which can risk anybody’s life. Be safe and visit beautiful places not terrifying ones.
