The horrifying event unfolded near Green Belt Park in Gandhi Nagar around 2:18 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, and was captured on CCTV. The footage, which has since gone viral, shows a Mahindra Thar attempting to overtake another vehicle before striking a scooter ridden by the elderly victim. The man fell but managed to get back on his feet only to be cruelly targeted again.

The accused has been identified as 20-year-old Manan Anand, a resident of Nanak Nagar and an engineering student. What makes the incident even more appalling is that after the second strike, Anand reportedly stepped out of the Thar, pointed at the injured man, and then fled without offering any help
