An executive engineer affiliated with the Tribal Welfare Engineering Department in Telangana was arrested on Monday for accepting a bribe of Rs. 84,000, as reported by officials.
The capture was based on a complaint lodged with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which alleged that K Jaga Jyothi demanded a bribe for providing a favor in her official capacity. The ACB, acting swiftly, apprehended her in the act of receiving the specified amount.
A video capturing K Jaga Jyothi in tears upon her discovery has widely circulated online. The phenolphthalein test conducted on her indicated that her right-hand fingers tested positive. This test uses a chemical that turns pink upon reacting, serving as an effective method for detecting individuals involved in bribery through the handling of marked currency or documents.

The ACB accused K Jaga Jyothi of engaging in corrupt practices to gain undue benefits. She was found with the bribe money at the time of her arrest and is currently detained, awaiting her court appearance in Hyderabad.
