Putin Issues Nuclear Threat
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he has made several changes regarding the use of nuclear weapons. He emphasized that if Russia faces any missile attack, it will not hesitate to respond with a nuclear strike. This statement comes at a time when Russia has been engaged in conflict with Ukraine for over two years.

During a televised meeting of Russia’s Security Council, Putin announced that under the planned modifications, any missile attack on Russia would be met with a nuclear response. Recently, several cruise missiles have been supplied to Ukraine by Western nations, capable of striking deep into Russian territory. Additionally, the U.S. and U.K. have given the green light for Ukraine to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles to target within Russia, further escalating tensions.

The Storm Shadow missile can strike up to 500 kilometers away, and until now, Ukraine has used it primarily against targets near the border. With the new orders from the U.S. and U.K., there are concerns that Ukraine may launch attacks deeper into Russian territory, prompting Putin to issue his nuclear threat. He warned that if Ukraine mistakenly uses missiles, it would signal that Western countries have directly entered the battlefield against Russia.
