Prashant Kishor makes big claims
Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor has once again made a bold prediction this time about Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United). Addressing a gathering in Kishanganj, the Jan Suraaj Party founder declared that JD(U) would not cross 25 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections scheduled later this year.

“If Nitish Kumar’s party wins beyond 25 seats, I will quit politics,” Kishor asserted, drawing parallels with his 2021 West Bengal prediction where he had famously said the BJP wouldn’t cross 100 seats. The saffron party eventually managed only 77.

But Kishor’s pitch in Bihar goes beyond numbers. He called for a broader alliance of “Gandhians, Ambedkarites, communists, socialists” along with Muslims, arguing that such a coalition is the only way to challenge the BJP.
“In this country, Hindus form 80% of the population, but only half of them vote for the BJP. The rest are followers of Gandhi, Ambedkar, communism, and socialism. If these Hindus and Muslims join hands, we can fight the long battle,” he said.

Taking a swipe at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Kishor remarked that unlike Owaisi who insists Muslims must fight alone, his Jan Suraaj Party seeks unity with ideologically driven Hindus to counter the BJP. “This is where we differ. Owaisi wants Muslims to stand alone, but I believe Gandhi’s ideology and collective strength are the way to defeat the RSS’s ideology,” he added.

With Bihar headed for a high-stakes election, Kishor’s daring prediction has set the political stage buzzing and raised the stakes for Nitish Kumar’s JD(U).
