The entertainment world was plunged into sorrow with the untimely demise of acclaimed actor Rituraj Singh, celebrated for his roles in the blockbuster “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” and the popular television series “Anupamaa”. Singh passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning due to a heart attack, leaving the industry and his fans in shock. Close friend Amit Behl revealed that Singh had recently been hospitalized for stomach ailments but was released a few days prior to his sudden death. “He succumbed to a cardiac arrest at around 12:30 am at his home,” Behl stated, sharing the grievous news with the media.
The announcement of Singh’s passing was initially made known to Behl through actress Pallavi Joshi, triggering an outpouring of condolences from the film community. Among the grief-stricken was Manoj Bajpayee, a longtime friend and colleague of Singh, who expressed his devastation online. “In disbelief at this tragic news. Rest in eternal peace, dear Rituraj. You will be sorely missed. Om Shanti,” Bajpayee shared, reflecting the sentiment of many who knew Singh personally.
Hansal Mehta, who had the pleasure of directing Singh in “K Street Pali Hill” and subsequently formed a deep friendship with him, also paid tribute. “Shocked and heartbroken to hear about Rituraj. Directing him in ‘K Street Pali Hill’ led to a lasting friendship filled with cherished memories. He was a profound talent and a beautiful soul, gone far too soon,” Mehta recounted, highlighting Singh’s untapped potential and warmth.
Varun Dhawan, Singh’s co-star in “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” joined in mourning the loss. Dhawan reminisced about their collaboration with a heartfelt message and a picture from their time on set, “Farewell, Rituraj sir. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside you.
