Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a significant announcement on the occasion of Teej. He stated that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 1.2 million beneficiary sisters will now receive a gas cylinder for just 500 rupees. He mentioned that this facility will be available to 4.6 million families with an income of less than 180,000 rupees.

CM Saini said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has worked to provide gas connections to every household. He acknowledged that former CM Manohar Lal Khattar had arranged for gas connections in every home.

CM Saini made this announcement while addressing the ‘State Level Teej Festival’ in Jind. He referred to himself as the ‘brother’ of women. The CM said that when a brother comes home, the voice of the sisters is strengthened. He noted that it is the month of Sawan and the auspicious festival of Teej for mothers and sisters.

CM Saini stated, “Attending the Teej festival is a matter of pride for me. I humbly greet all the sisters. I have had the opportunity to come among my sisters.”

The CM further said, “I am happy that my sisters are now standing on their own feet through skills. Sisters who have established employment have been honored here. We have also provided a loan of 1 billion rupees to the sisters of self-help groups. Our ‘Lakhpati Didis’ have not only raised flags in Haryana but across the country. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to them.”

CM Saini noted that PM Narendra Modi initiated the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ program in 2023. The goal is to make 200,000 sisters and daughters in Haryana ‘Lakhpati Didis’, and we are progressing rapidly towards this. In the first phase, our goal is to create 62,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’.
