Prabhas, the widely acclaimed PAN India star, has marked a triumphant return with Salaar, an action-packed drama directed by Prasanth Neel, amassing over 600 crores at the box office. While the Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam iterations of Salaar are already available on Netflix, the Hindi-dubbed version has just premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar, nearly two months after its cinematic release.
In response to the Multiplex Associations’ directive, preventing the release of any Hindi film, including dubbed versions, in major chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis) if it appears on OTT platforms within eight weeks of its theatrical debut, the makers chose to postpone the OTT release for the Hindi version. Despite the delay, the dubbed rendition has enjoyed notable success, raking in around 150 crores net, even when faced with competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. Prithviraj Sukumaran played a pivotal role in this high-energy drama.
