Bilal Tele, the man behind this bizarre episode, reportedly entered the prestigious campus with no official permission and blended in seamlessly with actual students. Attending engineering lectures and roaming the premises like any other scholar, he was only caught when a curious professor asked him to show his ID card, a simple request that unraveled the entire mystery.

The saga began on June 2, when Tele first entered the Powai campus claiming to be interested in a one-day study program. Enchanted by the academic atmosphere, he decided not to leave. Instead, he returned repeatedly and attended classes until June 19, when he was finally detained and handed over to the police.

Campus authorities were first alerted to an “unidentified individual” moving near an administrative office on June 4. When questioned, Tele fled, but not before being caught on CCTV. Despite security scanning the campus, he remained undetected until the classroom confrontation.

During interrogation, Tele insisted he had no harmful intentions but just a thirst for learning. “He was fascinated by the campus and wanted to study,” confirmed senior police inspector Datta Nalawade. Still, concerns remain. Faculty members are now questioning how he managed to stay hidden, whether he accessed sensitive academic material, and where he even slept.

In response, IIT Bombay has tightened its security protocols, while the Powai Police continue their investigation into one of the most unusual cases the institute has seen in years.
