Bollywood’s beloved Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, has come forward to show his unwavering support for Salman Khan, whose much-hyped Eid release Sikandar has been struggling to roar at the box office. During a special screening event for Kesari: Chapter 2 in Delhi, Akshay brushed off the chatter about big-budget films underperforming and gave his friend Salman a shoutout that only a true buddy could.

“Yeh galat baat hai. Aisa ho hi nahi sakta. Tiger zinda hai aur hamesha rahega. Salman aisi nasal ka tiger hai jo kabhi marr nahi sakta,” Akshay told Hindustan Times, confidently defending the Bhaijaan against the film’s lukewarm reception.

Salman, meanwhile, has been candid about the challenges he’s faced promoting Sikandar. Despite pulling out all stops with flashy promotional stunts, the superstar has hinted at feeling a lack of support from the industry. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Salman shared his thoughts:

“Unko lagta hoga ki mujhe zaroorat nahi padti. But sabko zaroorat padti hai — including me.”
At the film’s trailer launch, Salman also didn’t shy away from addressing the much-discussed 31-year age gap between him and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. Flashing his signature wit, Salman quipped, “If the heroine and her father don’t have a problem, then why should anyone else?” The cheeky remark had the media in splits.

He further added, “When Rashmika gets married and has a daughter, and if she becomes a star, even then I’ll work with her — of course, after getting the mother’s permission!”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in key roles. Despite the star power and festive release, the film hit theatres on March 30 and has yet to match audience expectations.
