Chandigarh witnessed a horrific accident on Monday evening when a speeding Porsche Cayenne, driven on the wrong side of the road, crashed into two scooters near the Sector 4 petrol pump. The reckless driving resulted in the tragic death of a man and left two women injured.

According to police reports, the high-end SUV was traveling at an alarming speed when it rammed into the two-wheelers. The impact was so severe that the man lost his leg and succumbed to his injuries, while the women, who were riding the other scooter, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The force of the crash sent the Porsche skidding before it slammed into an electric pole, which also suffered significant damage. One of the scooters was completely mangled, while the front portion of the Porsche, including its tyre, was severely wrecked.

This incident adds to a growing list of high-speed crashes involving luxury cars in India. Just last May, a 17-year-old boy in another Porsche SUV killed two people after smashing into a motorcycle at a shocking speed of 200 kmph in a narrow lane. Similarly, earlier this month, a BMW met with a devastating crash on Mumbai’s Coastal Road while attempting to overtake other vehicles. The driver miraculously escaped with minor injuries despite the car being totaled.
Luxury cars and reckless speeding continue to be a deadly combination, raising serious concerns about road safety and responsible driving in the country.
