During the Hyderabad premiere of Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2, a tragic incident occurred leading to the death of a woman. Seeking to quash the FIR filed against him, Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court on Wednesday.
The incident took place on the night of December 4 at Sandhya Theatre, where a massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Amidst the chaos, a 35-year-old woman lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized. Following a complaint lodged by the woman’s family on December 5, the Chikkadapalli police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
During the investigation, one of the theatre owners’ senior managers was arrested. In his petition, Allu Arjun requested the High Court to cancel the FIR and halt all further proceedings, including any arrests, until the matter is resolved. The court is expected to hear the case in the coming days.
Earlier, the actor had announced financial assistance of ₹25 lakh for the deceased woman’s family.
