In a heartbreaking event, Lasya Nandita, a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, lost her life in a car accident in Hyderabad when her SUV collided with a road barrier. This unfortunate incident marks her second car accident in less than two weeks.
The 37-year-old politician miraculously survived a previous crash in Narkatpally just a few days ago, where her vehicle was hit by a drunk driver en route to a rally featuring Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Though she came out of that incident with only minor injuries, a home guard accompanying her was not as fortunate and died.
The fatal accident occurred when her driver lost command of the Maruti XL6, causing it to smash into the metal barrier on the Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad. Lasya Nandita died at the scene, while her driver, who sustained serious injuries, is currently being treated at a private medical facility.
She was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital. The crash took place early in the morning at around 5:30 am, and investigations into both accidents are underway. Lasya Nandita, a Hyderabad native born in 1986, ventured into politics about a decade ago. Before her election to the assembly seat from Secunderabad Cantonment in 2023, she served as a corporator for the Kavadiguda ward.
